CD-4 DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE JOHN PADORA REACTS TO

PRIMARY NOMINATION OUTCOME

FOLLOWING CD-4 ASSEMBLY ON APRIL 11

WINDSOR, CO - Congressional District 4 Democratic Delegates have selected John Padora to be a Democratic candidate for the 2024 CD-4 primary election.

John Padora launched his campaign in January 2023, challenging five-term Republican Ken Buck, who announced his retirement in November 2023 and suddenly resigned in March 2024. As a shock to many, on March 29, Colorado Republicans chose Lopez as their Republican nominee for the special election. Lopez, a notorious right-wing extremist is a strategic placeholder to put Lauren Boebert in office in the 2024 primary election.

I’m immensely honored to be chosen by CD-4 Democratic Delegates as a primary election nominee,” said Padora. “My team and I are ready to leap into this next phase of the election with ferocity, and I know I can earn constituents' support and trust that I will be the best person to serve them in office. Regardless of who the general election opponent is, I will be ready to push back and show everyone in this district that the GOP does not have their interest at heart. It’s time for a new person who will push for progressive policies and fight for better social programs that benefit everyone.”

Padora recently received an endorsement from Colorado Working Families Party, a signal that he can be an advocate for the livelihood of working class families through tax reform, housing availability reform and access expansion to affordable healthcare.

Through his platform, Padora is also focused on the individual’s right to bodily autonomy and vows to nationally codify a woman’s right to choose and her access to reproductive healthcare. As a resident of Colorado’s Fourth District, he also understands the issues facing rural America and plans to support bills that resuscitate American manufacturing, redirect federal subsidies from corporate agriculture to small farmers and ranchers, and rebuild clean water infrastructure throughout the state
